Frequency 1

Atonal 'tone colour' timbre music for Orchestra.

Composed & Produced by James Kennedy

'Frequency 1' is an instrumental, experimental piece of music for Orchestra & is the 10th song on the 2010 Kyshera album 'Paradigm'. The music & production are by James Kennedy.

'Frequency 1' is a musical experiment in tone colour & atonal harmony by James Kennedy, executed with orchestral instruments as Kennedy thought they lent themselves better to the sound he had in mind. The short piece consists exclusively of a series of very dense 'chords' which have no tonal centre or root & the piece has no Key, Rhythm or melody. Inspired by the expressionist paintings of Franz Marc, Kennedy wanted to create a musical equivalent to the stark contrasts of colour found in these works & wanted each of these unique chords to have their own feel & colour yet contrasting wildly with the next chord in order to also create a 'relative' identity for each new chord in the sequence.

As the piece climaxes, it segues straight in to 'Frequency 2', another instrumental piece for orchestra, full band, toys & much more.
