Willing Prey

Words & Music by James Kennedy

'Willing Prey' is an Alternative Rock song & the 3rd song on the 2010 Kyshera album 'Paradigm'. The words, music & production are by James Kennedy.

The song is one of the few traditionally 'song' structured tracks on the album with a standard 'verse, chorus' format. Lyrically the song is Kennedy comparing the morality of corporations with that of individuals in society & how we treat the 2 differently. Throughout the verses, Kennedy sings about a person committing all sorts of evils but in the chorus it is revealed that it is actually a corporation at large in society.

In the bridge section of the song, Kennedy plays on a quote from Stalin when he says that 'One crime and you are dangerous, but a thousand and it's only business'.

LYRICS

He attracts with a serving hand

Then attacks his prey with no mercy

Emotionless, he’s armed & dangerous

And he’s on the loose in your neighbourhood

He’s a law unto his own

Leaves a trail of wreckage & bones

But masquerade as a tower of tinted windows

Abort his name for the shield of a noble logo

Outsource the blame to someone elses ideology

And we’re willing prey, we’re willing prey

He will stop, stop at nothing

When he’s bled you dry then he’s coming for your children

But masquerade as a tower of tinted windows

Abort his name for the shield of a noble logo

Outsource the blame to someone elses ideology

And we’re willing prey, we’re willing prey

One crime & you are dangerous

But a thousand & its only business

He’s stalking you all the time

He wants to get inside your mind

But masquerade as a tower of tinted windows

Abort his name for the shield of a noble logo

Outsource the blame to someone elses ideology

And we’re willing prey, we’re willing prey
